Gor top sports brand in Kenya, research shows

Gor Mahia is the best sporting brand in Kenya, according to findings of a research by a Swiss firm ICERTIAS - International Certification Association.

The firm places the Kenyan Premier League champions among top corporate and personalities who it terms as most saleable brands.

The findings will perhaps help Gor attract corporate sponsorship. The club has been struggling financially since their sponsorship deal with Tuzo ran out at the beginning of the season.

On Wednesday Gor signed a three-year kit sponsorship deal with Sports Studio, an Italy based company from the Spain’s Joma brand family but the club is yet to attract shirt sponsorship.

“Gor Mahia is a big brand and we hope to have a shirt sponsor soon,” said Rachier.

Premier League side Arsenal is the best sports club in the world. David Rudisha tops the charts in the category of best sportsmen in Kenya while Gor tops category of best Kenyan sports clubs, regardless of discipline.

These are the results of the first Kenyan QUDAL - QUality meDAL - DEEPMA Research conducted in June this year. More than sixty commercial and non-commercial categories for instance  best quality milk, best quality car, best quality domestic singer, were sampled.

The first results of the research have been processed and are available for analysis. It has corporates such as Safaricom, Brookeside, Equity Bank and Britam as the  top brands among Kenyans.

During the research, QUDAL asked Kenyans what goods they would buy and products they would use if money wasn’t a factor, only the quality.
