Hosts Bandari survive United’s scare in Division One League

Bandari FC survived anxious moments before beating stubborn Coast United 2-1 in the Nationwide Division One Zone  ‘A’ match at the KPA Mbaraki Sports Club on Sunday.

Skipper Raphael Okello opened the scoring for Bandari in the 12th minute after Mohamed Shariff and Shaaban Kenga combined to put him through.

Coast United levelled terms in the  65th minute through Sherman Swaleh Gago but Mohammed Banka  wrapped up the match for Bandari in the 80th minute.

The victory saw Bandari consolidate its lead at the top of the standings with 51 points from 25 matches, four points ahead of second-placed Kariobangi Sharks who have a game in hand.

Sparki Youth also beat Gatundu Stars 2-1 at Juja ground before going down 3-0 to Mahakama at Nairobi’s City Stadium. Bidco United beat Kibera Celtics 3-0, Magongo Rangers drew 1-1 with KSL Thola Glass before losing 4-0 to Green Berets as Congo United kept their unbeaten drew 1-1 with KRA in other matches.
