‘Ingwe’ take on Under-20 side at City

Kenyan Premier League (KPL) leaders AFC Leopards take on Kenyan Under 20 side on Tuesday afternoon in a build-up at the City Stadium from 4pm.

AFC Leopards coach Jan Koops confirmed on Monday of the match upon arrival from Mumias.

‘Yes its true, we are facing the National Under 20 tomorrow (Tuesday) and we hope to give our fans a good treat. We are expecting a good turn out. I do assure our fans that they will be able to see in action most of our new signings led by Pascal Ochieng and others,” said Koops.

Leopards, who defeated Karuturi Sports FC 1-0 on Saturday in a league match jetted back in Nairobi on Monday morning from Mumias.

Victor Ochieng’ struck in the 87th minute to put Leopards four points clear at the top of the KPL log with 40 points.

The Under 20 side under coach Stanley Okumbi are currently in camp ahead of their Africa Youth Championship second round first leg encounter against Egypt slated on Saturday 28 June.

The finals will be staged next year in Algeria.

The youthful side have played a series of friendly matches against

Ligi Ndogo, Thika Bidco, Sofapaka and Gor Mahia. The team featuring virtually KPL players lost 1-0 to Gor Mahia FC last Thursday.
