Bandari failed to win their third straight home match after they were held to a barren draw by City Stars at Mombasa County Stadium on Saturday.

In Western Kenya, Chemelil Sugar were also held to a barren draw at home to Western Stima.

At the Mombasa County Stadium, the home team failed to impress in the first half creating only one scoring opportunity in the 31st minute when midfielder Crispine Odula delivered a powerful free-kick that forced City Stars goalkeeper Fredrick Majani to dive at full stretch to parry the ball out for a corner.

The poor show by Bandari enabled Stars players gain in confidence as time ticked by. But the home side’s defence of Mohammed Shariff, Duncan Otewa, Humphrey Okoti stood strong.

Bandari’s technical bench made the first substitution in the 44th minute, bringing in Abbas Muhiddin, who was returning after a long lay-off due to injury, for Bruno Sserenkuma.

Bandari made another change six minutes into the second half with Ibrahim Kitawi coming in for Odula. A minute later Muhiddin sent a hard shot which was brilliantly saved by Majani.

In the 65th minute, Lazaro Simba missed a golden chance to give Bandari the opening goal sending his scorching drive wide with the City ‘keeper looking beaten.
