Kakamega Homeboyz lie in wait for AFC Leopards

Kakamega Homeboyz coach Mike Mururi has said that his team’s focus is to win their weekend match against giants AFC Leopards after holding their nerves to earn a point in a dramatic 1-1 draw with Thika United at the weekend.

Mururi says although his team created number of chances against the James Nandwa-coached side, many were not converted and his aim is to polish their finishing ahead of the crunch meeting with Ingwe on Sunday in Mumias.

“The boys worked hard, especially in the first half (against Thika). We played a highly-technical side. I’m happy with the result, but we need to improve on our finishing,” he said. “Our aim is two win the next game (against Leopards) and so we want prepare well.”

Meanwhile, two players are suspended from the weekend matches. Ushuru’s Nelson Marasowe and Muhoroni Youth’s troublesome striker Wycliffe Ochomo will miss action for the next two weeks as they serve their bans.

Ochomo remains the top scorer on 12 goals, same as John Mark Makwatta of Ulinzi Stars. In-form Kepha Aswani of Leopards is third on 10 goals while  Gor Mahia’s Jacques Tuyisenge  is on eight. Thika’s Eugene Mukangula and Fredrick Shimonyo of  Western Stima are both tied on six.
