The Perisian football is reporting that Harambee Stars and their Iranian counterparts will face-off at Tehran's Azadi Stadium on November 14, a day set aside for international matches by governing body FIFA.

The contest will offer an opportunity for Kenya's coach Bobby Williamson to register his first win with the team on his third attempt.

The Scottish tactician has already lost his opening two friendly engagements, away to Egypt and Morocco respectively, since taking over from Adel Amrouche in August.

RESORTED TO FRIENDLY MATCHES

Kenya has resorted to participating in international friendlies following an embarrassing elimination by Lesotho in the early stages of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Iran - who are ranked 51st on the FIFA grid - are certain to offer a tough footballing test to the struggling Harambee Stars who are placed 65 places below the Asians on the world rankings.

The Asian team, which is handled by former Real Madrid and Portugal head coach Carlos Quieroz, participated at the just concluded FIFA World Cup in Brazil, coming last in a group that included tournament finalists Argentina, Africa champions Nigeria, alongside Bosnia Herzegovina.

Both teams will be using this tie to fine tune for the upcoming engagements.

Stars have a congested 18-month period coming up with the 2014 Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup, 2015 All Africa Games qualifiers, 2016 Africa Nations Championships and Olympic Games qualifiers and the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers to participate in.

Iran is in the meantime warming up for the 2015 Asian Cup where 'Team Melli' will face perennial foes Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates in Group C.
