Magadi defeated Highway 2-0 to win the football title in the Kisumu County Secondary Schools Term Two ‘B’ games held at Kisumu Day on Saturday.

Coach David Owuor’s side braved the afternoon heat to prove their opponents wrong after Victor Otieno’s brace in the 30th and 47th minute put the team through.

Earlier, Highway bundled out Lake Region football powerhouse Kisumu Day 1-0 courtesy of Kevin Ochieng’s goal at the death in a pulsating match that was marred by chaos.

The tense match had to be stopped briefly as fans joined the disgruntled Kisumu Day students in opposing the centre referee’s decisions. In the second semi-final, Magadi beat Xaverian 2-0.
Elsewhere, Butula Boys smashed former football powerhouse Bujumba 2-0 to win the final of Butula Sub-County Secondary Schools Term Two ‘B’ games at Bumala A C Primary in Busia. Apollo Ambesa opened the score charts and Yohanna Machio scored the winner.

Butula coach Julius Owuor praised his lads and said they are ready for county games to be held in less than a fortnight.

“I am glad we won this years’ final. It was a difficult match because we both posted good results in previous matches but our teamwork paid off,” he told Sunday Nation Sport.
