Masoud, Blackberry named in Stars squad for Mozambique friendly

Harambee Stars Head Coach Stanley Okumbi has named a 19-man local based squad set to play Mozambique in an international friendly match on September 2 in Maputo.

The former Bandari FC and Sony Sugar man didn’t live up to expectations on his debut against Sierra Leone on June 10 during the first round qualifier of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Gor Mahia’s George ‘Blackberry’ Odhiambo has been recalled after years out in the cold. Odhiambo has been in red hot form for his club recently scoring crucial goals.

Bernard Ochieng’ of Vihiga United and Wazito FC’s Joe Waithira are the only players given a nod from the National Super League.

The summoned players are expected to report to camp on Sunday at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies (KSMS).

The team departs for Mozambique on August 31.
