Gor Mahia defender Solomon Nasio has been discharged from the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) after successful nose surgery.

The player was admitted at the facility last Tuesday to undergo the procedure that was aimed at correcting the deviation of the nasal septum the cartilage wall separating the nostrils of the nose.

The delicate procedure took five hours. An overwhelmed Nasio, who is currently recuperating at his home took time to hail Kenyans who rallied to his aid.

“My pain was a plan, my grief was a gift, my trial was a test and because I endeavoured toendure, the Lord endeavoured to give me more. Thanks to everyone for your prayers and support. May the Good Lord bless you,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

NOSE SURGERY

The right-back broke his nose last year during a match between Gor Mahia and Karuturi Sports in Naivasha.

When the Nation highlighted his plight nine days ago, countless football fans came to his aid. They contributed money that enabled him to pay for the nose surgery. He is expected to return to action soon.

The surgery was projected to cost Sh150,000, and the fans' contributions hit Sh240,000.

The long and delicate recovery process, which will require him to undergo routine check-ups at KNH, will keep him out of active football for at least seven months.
