IN HAWASSA, ETHIOPIA

In a bid to diffuse tension in the Harambee Stars camp, Cecafa secretary general Nicholas Musonye on Friday visited the Kenyan team's camp in Hawassa and urged the boys to keep focus.

Addressing the playing unit and members of the technical bench hours before their last group game against Zanzibar, Musonye said that it was important for the boys to eye the ultimate prize.

"It is my responsibility to visit my team whenever they are. Despite being the secretary general of Cecafa, I'm a Kenyan first and that is the spirit of patriotism.

"I know there are problems here and there for you but I want you to focus on the prize. You are the defending champions and you need to fight to defend the title," he said.

At the same time, Musonye said that talks are ongoing with the Ethiopian government with the aim of staging all the remaining matches at the Hawassa International Stadium.

"We are in high level discussions and the rest of the games could be moved here (Hawassa)," he said.

So far, the competition has been staged in Addis Ababa, Bahir Dar and the southern city of Hawassa.
