Palos FC beat Wazito 2-1 at Camp Toyoyo grounds in Nairobi on Sunday to supplant their opponents from the top of the National Super League standings.

Unbeaten Palos now lead the league on seven points from three matches, followed by CFE 105 who have six points from two matches.

Kisumu-based Palos, coached by Paul Ogai, scored twice through Morven Otinya, while Paul Karuri replied for Wazito in a match televised live by free to air TV channel Bamba Sport.

Speaking after the match, Ogai was full of praise for his charges for playing according to his game plan.

“Winning away against Wazito is a big achievement. Our plan was to pin them down in their own half in the opening minutes, get early goals then sit back and get them on the counter-attack and it worked for us,” Ogai said.

At the same venue, Kenya Police beat Kibera Black Stars 2-1. Kevin Omondi scored twice for the victors as Tony Baraza snatched a consolation for the slum boys.

Elsewhere, Ushuru beat Isibania 2-0 in Awendo, Mombasa based Modern Coast Rangers hit Mosca 2-0 at Mbaraki Sports Club while GFE 105 beat Nairobi City Stars 2-1 at the Kipchoge Keino Stadium, Eldoret.
