Briton Stewart Hall will on Tuesday take over as head coach of Kenyan Premier League side Sofapaka FC.

Hall arrives in the country Tuesday morning and will immediately take up his new role at the club, according to Sofapaka president Elly Kalekwa.

Hall, former coach of Tanzanian club Azam FC, was picked from a list of 10 foreigners who had applied for the job that fell vacant three weeks ago after the sacking of Salim Ali following a string of poor results.

David Ouma has been handling the team on temporary basis. On Monday, Kalekwa confirmed that Hall had agreed to take over as coach of the team.

“We looked at Hall’s experience in East Africa and also his coaching capacity and we are sure this is the man to change our fortunes,” said Kalekwa.

Sofapaka take on defending champions Tusker on Wednesday evening and Kalekwa says Hall will have taken his place on the technical bench by then.

“He will immediately take up his role. He has definitely seen us play and knows what needs to be done.”
