Harambee Starlets striker Mbeyu Akida scored four goals to help Spedag Ladies FC crush the visiting Soccer Sisters from Nairobi 9-0 during a lop-sided Kenya Women Premier League match at Mombasa Sports Club on Saturday.

Mbeyu scored the four goals in the seventh, 68th, 77th, and 87th minutes with teammate Elizabeth Mwikali netting two goals in the sixth and 66th minutes.

Wendy Achieng added two for the hosts in the 53rd and 70th minutes and former national team player Sharon Bushenei scored in the 63rd minute.

This was the second league victory for Spedag, the oldest football club in Coast region, having earlier beaten Mombasa Olympic 5-2 but lost another 3-2 to Thika Queens.

Spedag, who have seven Starlet players in their line-up, are top contenders for the league this season.

Meanwhile, Bandari captain Wilson Oburu has made a rallying cry to his teammates to prove their worth ahead of their GOtv Shield first round match against Tezo from Kilifi at Mbaraki Sports Club on Sunday.

Speaking at the Mombasa Technical Training Institute where the team has been training for the last two-and-half weeks, Obungu urged the team to focus.
