Postal Corporation of Kenya (Posta) will this weekend take on opponents from Tanzania and Uganda in the regional stage of the Standard Chartered Road To Anfield football challenge at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies.

Teams from Uganda and Tanzania are expected in the country on Saturday to take on Posta in the East Africa finals of the tournament.

Uganda and Tanzania will be making their maiden appearance at the games after the format of the tournament was changed this year to a regional competition.

At stake is a fully-paid for trip to Anfield, home of English Premier League giants Liverpool FC.

The finals will be held at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies grounds.

Posta qualified to represent Kenya in the finals after beating Capital FM 3-2 two weeks ago in the Kenyan leg of the championships that brought together 60 teams at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies.

Posta will look up to their hard-working captain James ‘Ninja’ Okal, a retired professional player who had a brief stint in the Kenya Premier League where he played for Chemelil Sugar.

“We are just two matches away from realizing our dream. Having come this far, we are not going to let this opportunity evade us,” said Okal.

Posta will have to negotiate tricky ties against Tanzania journalists Wananchi Communications and Uganda’s East Africa Roofing Ltd in the five a side tournament.

Roofings made it to the regional finals after edging out Coca-Cola 4-3 on post-match penalties.

Wananchi Communications booked their ticket to the regional finals after a narrow victory over Channel 10 in an-all media clash.
