Tusker moved three points clear at the top of the Kenyan Premier League with a comfortable 2-0 win over Rangers at the Nairobi City Stadium on Saturday.

Until the second half, all was even with both sides battling for a win. Rangers were reduced to 10 men at the 25th minute when Eric Muranda was sent off for punching Jockins Atudo.

Until then, all was well fought in the only game of the weekend. But Tusker used all their experience in their arsenal to lift the game and hold on to the KPL leadership.

After Muranda had punched Atudo, Tusker were always going to have an easy ride and they did so in the second half.

New boy Joshua Oyoo, signed from Tusker FC gave the brewers the lead in the 50th minute to put the champions ahead.

Tusker then cemented their lead with Obadiah Ndege netting in the 52nd minute with a low shot.

With the win, Tusker now have 35 points at the top of the league table while Rangers have 12.

Meanwhile, AFC Leopards have signed Rangers’ captain Pascal Ochieng. Ochieng had been linked to Got Mahia but Ingwe snapped up the 35-year-old international on Friday.

“I’m happy to have signed for AFC Leopards. It is the dream of any player to play for Gor Mahia or AFC Leopards.

“I am happy to have signed for Leopards,’’ said Kenya international Pascal.
