Title hopefuls Tusker leave for Kampala, Uganda on Thursday to play a host of build-up matches as they gear for the new season.

The team will leave their Ruaraka base on Thursday by road and have a stopover in Kisumu before proceeding to Kampala Friday morning.

“We are leaving with a squad of 23. Only Brian Osumba will not travel as he’s still recuperating from an injury,” Club CEO Charles Obiny said.

On Saturday, the brewers will play Ugandan Super League champions Vipers SC at the Nakivubo Stadium before facing Sadolin Paints on Sunday in Jinja.

The Nkata-coached charges will then wind up their Ugandan tour with a match on Tuesday against Jinja Municipality before travelling back to Kenya on Wednesday to face Palos a day later at the Moi Stadium, Kisumu.

Tusker have shown much ambition in the transfer market signing eleven new players as they build a strong squad that looks capable of snatching the league title from record winners Gor Mahia. AFC Leopards duo Michael Khamati and Timonah Wanyonyi are the latest Tusker acquisitions. Khamati has penned a two-year contract while Wanyonyi has agreed a one-year loan deal.

They join Ugandan defender Martin Kizza, who was recently unveiled as part of the new signings that also together with KPL Most Valuable Player Anthony Ndolo.
