The GOtv Shield round of 16 kicks off kicks off Friday afternoon with former champions Tusker taking on and lower tier side Zetech University at the Nyayo National Stadium.

Zetech is the lowest ranked side to have made it to the round of 16 of the tournament, but it will be a clash of epic experience between Tusker’s Ugandan coach Paul Nkata and former brewers coach and player Sammy “Pamzo” Omollo at Nyayo Stadium.

Omollo is relishing the prospects of meeting his former employers in this match, and he has expressed confidence that his youthful squad will pip the experienced brewers.

"It will be a tough match no doubt, but I have never shied from playing against Tusker. I have very young boys in my squad. Young boys who are ready and willing to show their worth. They have been performing well in the league and I believe that it is possible to come out victorious in this match,” Omollo said.

With the Kenyan Premier League title race on its final stretch, Nkata is expected to tweak his starting line-up, giving a majority of his first team players the much needed rest.

Former AFC Leopards custodian Martin Musalia will start in goal between the sticks while lead striker Allan Wanga, who missed their 1-0 win over Kakamega Homeboyz in the league last weekend, will spearhead the attack.

Robert Omonuk, fresh from the East Africa Military Games, could also earn his first start in five matches while George Mandela is suspended for this tie.

Humphrey Mieno, who is back after recovering from a knee injury, could make his return from the bench in this encounter though defender Eugene Asike is still out.

“The league title is our primary ambition, but it doesn’t mean that we don’t care about the other trophies. For us the more the merrier so we shall definitely be playing for a win in this match,” Nkata said.
