Tusker sack George Owoko, set to complete Wanga reunion

Ten-time Kenyan Premier League champions Tusker have parted ways with club assistant coach George Owoko under unclear circumstances.

Daily Nation Sport understands that the soft-spoken tactician is considering taking legal action for his dismal.

Contacted, Tusker director Charles Obiny declined to talk on the matter.

“Right now I’m away and cannot give a comment. I’ll however do so once I return to Nairobi,” he said.

Owoko, who joined the brewers in January as assistant to Paul Nkata, is said to have been handed his dismissal letter after Friday’s training session.

Tusker have had a troubled relationship with its technical bench in the last one year.

Former head coach Francis Kimanzi was elbowed out late last year after a poor run and in his place, came Nkata.

The brewers are reportedly on the verge of signing Kenya international Allan Wanga - who is a free agent after running down his contract with Tanzanian giants Azam SC.

The former AFC Leopards striker is said to have agreed terms with Tusker and is set to sign a two-year deal after the acquisition of his ITC.

At the same time, champions Gor Mahia are showing no signs of relinquishing the league title.

ODULA JOINS GOR

K’Ogalo have added to their roster Crispin Odula and Meddie Kagere, who makes a return to the club.

Odula is an experienced midfielder and has in the past turned out for Oulu FC (Finland), Bandari, Tusker FC, Azam and Coastal Union of Tanzania.

Odula, who penned a two-year deal will fight for a starting position in Gor’s midfield that has Collins ‘Gatusso’ Okoth, Ernest Wendo, Francis Kahata and Amos Nondi.

“Crispin Odula is a seasoned midfielder. He should be an asset in our attacking and central midfield. We welcome him to K’Ogalo family," club boss Ambrose Rachier said in the club’s official website.

Odula now joins Kagere as the new arrivals at the side. Kagere, who is expected to form a potent striking force with Jacques Tuyisenge, has also inked a two-year deal.

Highly rated left-back, Eric ‘Marcelo’ Ouma, has also extended his stay at the 15-time Kenyan champions for six months.
