Rwandese hitman Jacques Tuyisenge has thanked Gor Mahia fans who turned up in large numbers at Kasarani stadium to cheer them in a 4-2 win over Zamalek of Egypt in the 2018/19 Caf Confederation Cup group “D’ match on Sunday.

K’Ogalo hit the road to the quarterfinals of this second-tier club championship on a brighter note courtesy of a brace from Rwandese Jacques Tuyisenge and one each from Nicholas Kipkirui who paved way for Dennis Oliech to net the fourth goal in a nerve-wrecking affair.

Tuyisenge, arguably the man of the match, now has three goals in the competition.

“As a striker, the joy is in scoring goals,” said Tuyisenge, who joined Gor in February 2016 from Rwandese outfit Police for a whooping Sh4 million.

“We showed great team work and that helped us get the victory, I am happy. Every player in Gor is talented, at times we fail to believe in ourselves but against Zamalek, we needed that confidence as a team to do the job," the 27-year-old added.

“I want to specifically take this opportunity to thank our fans who pushed us the entire match even when it seemed difficult in the first half. This is what other teams utilize on home ground,

“I would like to request them to always come in masses whenever we’ve a home match to push us on for such welcoming results," pleaded Tuyisenge.

He went ahead to warn upcoming opponents Petro Atletic of Angola whom they visit on February 13.

“Games are different, we shall continue to prepare well to continue fighting for three points in the remaining fixtures,” he concluded.
