Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), Ulinzi, football team remained on course to retain the East African Military Games title after remaining unbeaten in their third tie of the competition.

The Kenyan Premier League side Monday played out to a one-all draw against Tanzania in an exciting contest staged at the Amman Stadium in Zanzibar.

Silas Shitote made the most of a spill by the opposition’s custodian by powering the resultant rebound into the roof of the net for the opening goal.

With Robert Matano’s team destined to claim the three points, Tanzania gate crashed the party by scoring with the last kick of the match.

KDF had earlier defeated Uganda’s Simba 1-0 in the opening match, before thrashing Burundi 4-2 in their opening two engagements.

“We have struggled abit on the artificial turf because the players are not quite accustomed to it. But overall am optimistic and is preparing the team to finish the job (win the title),” KDF coach Robert Matano said.
