Indiza leads pros in hunt for tournament honours at Nanyuki Golf Club

A total of 126 golfers, among them 26 pros, will tackle the nine-hole Nanyuki Sports Club course on Saturday for the 2015 Simon and Agnes Mbugua Foundation golf tournament.
Leading the pros in hunt for a share of the Sh600,000 will be long hitting Dismas Indiza from Mumias who won the Rwanda Open last weekend, Coast based Kopan Timbe who won the Mayfair Insurance tournament at Nyali, Muthaiga’s Greg Snow, Richard Ainley from Nakuru and Thika’s Simon Ngige among others. The tournament, which was pushed this weekend from August, is sponsored by the late Eng Simon Mbugua’a son Jimmy Mbugua and his brothers and sister.
HUGE FIELD
At Nyali Club, over 100 players will be in action in the inaugural Stinis Singapore Pte golf tournament. A Singapore-based company Stinis Singapore has lined up a number of prizes for club members and guests.
“This is the first time the company is hosting the tournament in Kenya, particularly in Mombasa. The Port of Mombasa is a regional hub, and so they want to appreciate customers in the shipping supply chain," director of Events Evergreen Charles Odoo said.
Among the players in action will be Anthony Choy, Stins chairman who is drawn with KPA’s Yobesh Oyaro and Takeshi Miyagawa of Japan Port Consultants. Others drawn are Shouzou Hidaka, Stins managing director Shirley Hiong, Jack Wein and Odoo.

At Thika Sports Club’s par 72 course, over 250 players are drawn for the ninth leg of the 2015 CIC Insurance golf series, the last leg of the event this year following the postponement of the final leg at Nyali until early next year.
At Royal Nairobi, club chairman Mugambi Murwithania marks the end of his term with a tournament today and tomorrow. Away in Kitale, the East African Grain Council golf series enters its second leg with a field of 100 players.
