Home professional Nicholas Rokoine climbed to second place after firing his second three under par 68 as defending champion Dismas Indiza maintained a one-shot lead going into Friday’s final round of the Jamii Telecom PGK Masters tournament at Muthaiga Golf Club on Thursday.

Rokoine played a perfect front nine which included birdies on the fourth, sixth and ninth, made them fourth at the par three-13th but a bogey at the 14th denied him a 67 and a possible tie with leader Indiza.

Rokoine however jumped from fifth to second place on four under par total 209 and has a great chance to upstage Indiza in Friday’s final round where the pros will be joined by the amateurs.

"The greens were slow because of the rains and made me miss so many birdie chances as I left many putts short. I hope I will hole out all my putts," said Rokoine who said he stands a good chance just like Indiza or Greg Snow who dropped to third after a one over par 72 for three under par 210.

"I just could not sink many easy putts because of the greens, I hope tomorrow they will be quicker," said Snow.

Birdies also became elusive for Indiza, though he only dropped one shot at the first hole, and managed a single birdie at the 18th for a level par 71 and a three rounds total of five under par 208.

"I had many chances for birdies as I made most of the fairways but I could not sink most of my birdie putts. The greens were completely different from day one and two," said Indiza who will be in the team of Rokoine during the final round on Friday morning where the pros will be off first at 7am , so that they then move to Windsor for the Kenya Airways Pro-Am in the afternoon.
