Royal Nairobi Golf Club’s Greg Snow beat two rounds leader Dismas Indiza and Nakuru’s Richard Ainley by two shots to finally record his first victory in the local scene after over a year.

Trailing Indiza by six shots before the start of the final round of the Kenya Airways Golf Safari Series at Vet Lab Sports Club course on Friday, Snow, recovered from three early bogeys at the first nine to eventually return one over par 73 and a three rounds total of 221 gross.

"I am so happy for this win after over a year. I have been practising so hard particularly for the Kenya Open," said Snow.

He said the win was a confidence booster as he prepares for the Kenya Open.

"My target now is to win all the forthcoming events namely KCB, Barclays and Jamii Telkom and then go for the Open itself," said Snow.

He started the day by dropping a shot at the par four-first hole, then hit a bad one from the rough at the second hole to drop two shots there though he managed to recover two shots with birdies at the third and fifth for one over par.

He bogeyed the 10th and 13th but birdied over the 12th and 16th.

“My efforts are paying off  slowly and probably at the right time. I really want to be in good shape come the Open,’’ said Snow. He added that the wind was so strong at Vet Lab and the greens rather difficult to read.

He picked up the first prize of Sh87,880.

It was a disastrous round for two rounds leader Dismas Indiza, who, after posting two over par at the front nine, ran into serious problems at the back nine’s 626-yards long par five-11th.

There, he hit out of bounds three times for a quick 11 shots that saw him post seven over par 43, a very unusual score for Indiza and the round’s 81 that saw him tie for the second place.
