Three of them Greg Snow, Abdul Sihag and Hardeep Thethy were in Dubai for the Shaikh Maktoum Dubai Open where none of them managed to make the second round cut.

During the third leg at the Dubai Creek Open, Snow and Sihag finished in the money list. “The conditions were tough last week but we will see how it goes in Abu Dhabi," said Snow who last year made the top 10 in the Mena Tour Order of Merit.

He is drawn at 8am behind Sihag from Vipingo Ridge - who will be off at 7.15am. They were joined in Abu Dhabi by Ganeev Giddie, a regular in the Mena Tour which usually attracts players from Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Back home, the remaining pros are taking a break this weekend following last weekend’s KCB Golf Tour grand finale where Vet Lab’s Brian Njoroge beat Riz Charania of Windsor in a sudden death play off to retain the KCB Golf Tour Grand Finale title at Nyali Golf and Country Club Mombasa.

Next weekend, the pros will move to Royal Nairobi Golf Club for the last leg in the Nation Media Golf Circuit. At stake at Royal will be Sh200,000.

This Friday some of the pros will also be at Royal for the Sunset Golfing Society event.
