Indiza leads PGK Masters race

What you need to know:

  • Snow was equally happy with his round though he was looking at a 64 for the day until he bogeyed the 11th and 14th. “I have a good chance for a low score tomorrow and Friday. At the moment, my game is solid which is good as we approach the Kenya Open,’’ said Snow.
  • Day one leader John Karichu dropped to joint sixth on 143 after a 75 in the second round. He was the only amateur to make the cut Wednesday.

Long-hitting pro Dismas Indiza fired his way to the top of the leader board on Day Two of the 2015 Jamii Telecom/PGK Masters after an impressive four under par 67 at the par-71 Muthaiga Golf Club course Wednesday.

It was one of Indiza’s best day where he only dropped one shot at the third, a hole where he drove to less than 50m from the green. He however chipped short to pick a five before making his first birdie of the day at the sixth.

“I chipped it softly, missed the green and made two putts, but my game was solid. I hope I can maintain this form for the remaining two days,’’ said Indiza, whose two rounds total leaves him a shot clear from Muthaiga’s Greg Snow who fired back-to-back 69 for 138.

Indiza sank his first birdie at the sixth, followed it with four more at the back nine’s 10th, 16th, 17th and 18th holes. Snow on the other hand dropped two shots at the front nine where he only birdied a hole but embarked on the back nine with an eagle at the 10th, dropped a shot at the par three-11th and later at the 14th but made birdies at the 12th, 13th and 18th.

MY GAME IS SOLID

Snow was equally happy with his round though he was looking at a 64 for the day until he bogeyed the 11th and 14th. “I have a good chance for a low score tomorrow and Friday. At the moment, my game is solid which is good as we approach the Kenya Open,’’ said Snow.

“I would like to win this one though my focus now is on the Kenya Open. I have unfinished business at Karen,’’ said Snow who tied for the 10th place in last year’s Open.

Day one leader John Karichu dropped to joint sixth on 143 after a 75 in the second round. He was the only amateur to make the cut Wednesday.

Tied in third place on 140 after firing two under par 69 was Muthaiga’s resident professional Anil Ashok Shah and Eldoret based Boniface Simwa. A total of 14 players with three over par 145 and better made the cut for the remaining two rounds.
