Kenya Airways Golf Series qualifiers head to par-71 Nyali Club course

  • Coming a week after the fourth leg in Nyeri, this weekend’s event which is open to golfers from the Coast region has attracted 150 players.
  • The overall winner, men and lady winner will win two return tickets to any of KQ’s African destinations and two Kenya destination return tickets each for the men and lady winner.

Kenya Airways flies down to the Coast this weekend to pick up three more qualifiers as the 2014/2015 KQ Golf Safari Series enters the fifth leg at the par-71 Nyali Golf and Country Club course.

Coming a week after the fourth leg in Nyeri, this weekend’s event which is open to golfers from the Coast region has attracted 150 players.

This weekend’s field at Nyali will be the second biggest so far in this year’s series after the second leg at Limuru where over 264 golfers participated.

Nyali captain Sammy Kamau has said the course is in great condition as the club prepares to host the Nyali Open in few weeks. Nyali Open is the grand finale of Kenya’s National Order of Merit, popularly known as the Golfer Of The Year.

“The course has been prepared not only for this event but also for the club’s major event. Those visiting will no doubt have a good here,’’ said Kamau.

The overall winner, men and lady winner will win two return tickets to any of KQ’s African destinations and two Kenya destination return tickets each for the men and lady winner.

The format will be Stableford off full handicap. Leading the race for the ladies ticket will be Mary Kandu whose main challengers are likely to include Alice Wahome, Kellen Weku, Joyce Lanxe and Jane Githere among others.
