  • Andersen and Mudanyi shot 76 and 78 respectively on Monday's pre-qualifying round, to miss the level par qualifying mark for the 760,000 rand event.

A string of bogeys saw two Kenyan professional golfers Stefan Andersen and Nelson Mudanyi miss a place in the on going Nedbank Affinity Cup at the Sun City Golf Resort in South Africa's north-west province.

Both regular players in the Southern Africa's Sunshine Golf Tour, Andersen and Mudanyi shot 76 and 78 respectively on Monday's pre-qualifying round, to miss the level par qualifying mark for the 760,000 rand event.

Andersen picked an eight at the 432-yard par four-14th hole, double-bogeyed the 525-yards par four-ninth, coupled with two single bogeys at the sixth and par three-13th.

WORSE OUTING

This cancelled four birdies fired over the fourth, eighth, 11th and 18th to tie in 30th place with three other players.

Mudanyi's outing was even worse as despite making four birdies, he picked up a quick 10 at the par four-10th after hitting out of bound at the par four-10th.

This was in addition to a double bogey five at the par three-15th having dropped two shots earlier at the front nine for a final six over par 78 that knocked out him of the starting place in the Affinity Cup which is part of Sunshine Tour's "Summer Swing'' where England's Jeff Inglis shot a brilliant round of 10 under par 62 to lead the lead of 14 qualifiers to the main event.

The Summer Swing usually includes the European Tour events which include the South Africa Open - the world's second oldest open event apart from the British Open.
