Safaricom banks Sh4m in Barclays Kenya Open

Safaricom Limited on Wednesday announced its sponsorship package of Sh4 million for this year’s Barclays Kenya Open that is scheduled for next week at Karen Country Club.

As part of its commitment to be the tournament’s sole connectivity provider, Safaricom will supply a mix of cutting-edge technologies that will aim to streamline communications at the globally recognised event which attracts players and spectators from across the world.

“We are pleased to be associated with the event once again as the sole connectivity provider,” said Rita Okuthe, the director of Safaricom Business.

“The Kenya Open continues to enhance the image of Kenya on the global map and it also offers our professionals an opportunity to play with their peers from all over the world.”

Under the terms of the deal, Safaricom Business will provide an ultra-modern media centre at the venue with computers and high-speed Internet access to enable journalists to file stories. It will also act as the communication centre for the pros and the tournament directors.
