Barclays Kenya Open defending champion Sweden's Sebastian Soderberg was forced to withdraw from this year's championship after a sustaining a shoulder injury at Muthaiga Golf Club during the second round on Friday.

He had shot one under par 70 during Thursday's opening round of the 220,000 Euro event.

Soderberg's withdrawal means the 13-year wait for a player to retain a Challenge Tour title is still on.
