In boys' volleyball, defending champions Malava Boys (Nzoia Region) take on Mau’s Cheptil in what is a repeat of last year's final while the other semi-final will see Metropolitan champions Hospital Hill face Coast’s Mivumoni High.
Malava coach Shadrack Tovoko expects a bruising battle today but believes his team will reign supreme and qualify for the final and also seal their spot to the regional games.
“A lot is at stake in this match between these two great teams and it will be closely fought,” Tovoko told Daily Nation Sport.
In the girls contest, Aberdare ‘s Tetu Girls face an uphill task as they take on the reigning national and East Africa champions Kwanthanze while Lugulu Girls will be up against an on-song AIC Kosirai (Mau) in the girls’ other semi-final tie.
Lugulu coach Anthony Bunyasi said his team has rectified their mistakes that cost them the preliminary round tie against Kwanthanze and will be sharper in their last-four encounter.
"Our reception cost us victory against Kwanthanze but we have worked on it and I know the girls want to make it to the final and will fight till the end," Bunyasi said.
LAISER TAKE ON ST ANTHONY'S
In boys’ football semi-final ties, Metropolitan Regional football champions Laiser Hill take on Nzoia Region champions St Anthony's while Kisumu Day (Lake Region) will tackle Passenga High (Aberdare Region).
The Laiser Hill versus St Anthony's match promises to be a thrilling encounter with both teams harbouring ambitions of lifting the national crown.
Laiser Hill Team Manager Shaban Baraza believes his team have underlined their intentions of winning the title after impressive run in the group stages and can continue their fine form with a win on Friday.
"We’ve come here to win the title and our target remains on course. Our hard work is paying off and we are ready for the semis and hopefully we can reach the final," he said.
In the girls' football semis, 2013 champions Olympic Girls of Metropolitan Region take on Nginda Girls (Aberdare Region) while last year's runners up St John's Kaloleni (Coast) have a date with Lake Region's Kobala Girls.
