Schools and colleges set for Amadi Open in Maseno

  • Kaya Tiwi Secondary School from Kwale County is among more than 120 institutions that have confirmed participation in the annual Amadi Open tournament at Maseno School this weekend.
  • The two-day event, which attracts schools, colleges and clubs countrywide, will feature basketball, football, handball, volleyball, hockey netball and 10-a-side rugby.  

Kaya Tiwi Secondary School from Kwale County is among more than 120 institutions that have confirmed participation in the annual Amadi Open tournament at Maseno School beginning on February 6, 2016.

The two-day event, which has attracted schools, colleges and clubs countrywide, will feature basketball, football, handball, volleyball, hockey netball and 10-a-side rugby according to Maseno School games master Dennis Ayieko. 

TABLE TENNIS

School teams will compete in table tennis, badminton and lawn tennis as they prepare for Term One games which start in two weeks time.

Kaya Tiwi principal Robert Aran Maima said he will field teams in girls’ basketball, netball and rugby. 

Other schools expected at the tournament include Upper Hill School, Lenana, Hospital Hill and Olympic High School (all from Nairobi), St Brigids Kiminini, Kakamega High, Butere Girls, Friends School Kamusinga and Sigalame from Nzoia region as well as teams from Nakuru and Lake region.
