Kakamega High keep rugby title

  • Kakamega High beat rivals St Peter’s Mumias 7-5 in the final to retain 15s rugby as the curtain came down on Kakamega County Secondary Schools Term One “A” games in Mumias on Saturday.
  • Scrum half Timothy Omela put the victors ahead in the 30th minute via a converted try in the match that was held at St Peter’s Secondary School grounds. 

Kakamega High beat rivals St Peter’s Mumias 7-5 in the final to retain 15s rugby as the curtain came down on Kakamega County Secondary Schools Term One “A” games in Mumias on Saturday.

Scrum half Timothy Omela put the victors ahead in the 30th minute via a converted try in the match that was held at St Peter’s Secondary School grounds. 

As both sides engaged in fierce exchanges, St Peter’s flanker Jude Barasa beat Kakamega backline led by Franklin Shiveka to touch down an unconverted try.

In boys’ basketball final, Kakamega High humbled Mukumu Secondary 71-55 to retain the title. Butere Secondary also retained the girls’ title after beating Mukumu Secondary 42-8 in the final.

Musingu beat Malava 4-0 to win boys’ hockey title as Arch Bishop Njenga hit Mukumu Secondary School 2-1 to retain the girls’ title.
