Mary Muchiru Ng’ethe from Kiambu County has won Sh1 million from latest draw conducted by local lottery company Lotto.

The 47-year-old from Kikuyu town in Kiambu County was named lucky winner of Sh1 million at the weekend through ticket number 734815659957.

The lucky mother of five became Lotto’s 189th millionaire after the second last draw conducted by the lottery company in month of July.

Her numbers 24, 30, 37, 23, 49, 45 and bonus number 3 did not match the draw’s winning numbers 46, 19, 22, 41, 15, 42 but Lotto’s other method of winning the draw’s top prize via a raffle saw her go home Sh1 million richer.

Muchiri, who works as a saleslady in a hardware in Kikuyu, was joined by her husband of two decades, Geoffrey Ng’ethe Waitimu, and her children (three boys and two girls) in celebrating the windfall.

She said she would use part of her winnings to send her youngest child to Form One next year, and use the rest to send her second born child, who is sitting her Form Four exams this year, to college next year.

Meanwhile, Richard Kiprotich Kurgat also won Sh1 million, making him Lotto’s 23rd Supa Sunday millionaire and Lotto’s 190th millionaire overall.
