Nakuru Club, who had lost 102-70 against Ulinzi Warriors last weekend, returned to Nairobi with a new strategy which saw them take a 20-11 first quarter lead. Lions had Dennis Opiyo and Victor Ochieng calling the shots in the evenly-contested match, overturning the scores to lead 25-16 in the second quarter.

Both teams continued to exhibit a good game in search for the two crucial points which saw them lock the scores 36-36 at the breather.

It was Joseph Okerio, who worked extra hard, earning Nakuru Club a 20-17 lead in the final quarter but Lions still remained focused to escape with a half a basket for a slim victory.

The victory moved Lions to the third position with 43 points in the league from 17 wins and 10 loses. Nakuru Club remained in the relegation zone after losing their 16th match and with only nine victories.

In the women’s Premier League matches played at Nyayo, Eagles Wings easily beat Mennonites 78-29 after leading 32-17 at the break. Eagle Wings dominated with a 19-9 first quarter run and went a head to win the all the remaining quarters with little opposition.
