The Kenya Tong IL Moo-Do Federation has hailed the Ministry of Sports for its efforts in developing martial arts in the country.

“We are grateful to the Ministry of Sports for the support it has given not only martial artists in Kenya but also the subsequent federations. Through this, we have managed to grow tremendously and run our programmes smoothly,” the federation’s Secretary-General Hillary Wahanda told Daily Nation Sport on Tuesday.

The ministry was heavily involved in supporting the federation during the recently concluded Mombasa Open International Martial Arts competition that attracted a record 27 international participants.

Wahanda also said they are working on ways to expand to all universities and colleges as part of their nationwide growth strategy.

“We are happy with the institutions that have recently partnered with us to support our cause and we are open to work with others.”
