New Enterprise Cup champions will be enthroned this season after Homeboyz knocked out holders Nakuru thanks to a 13-11 win at Nakuru Athletic Club on Saturday.

Homeboyz will now meet Strathmore Leos who also put up a great display to edge out Nondescripts 20-5 at the Jamhuri Park show grounds in the semi-finals.

Last year’s losing finalists Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) remained on course for a second cup success this season when they dispatched battling Kenya Harlequin 13-8 at Ruaraka to ease through to the semi-finals due next weekend.

The bankers will clash with Impala Saracens in a repeat of last year’s semi-finals which KCB won 31-14. Impala eased past Western Bulls 37-33 at the Impala Sports Club.

Fly half Arun Lubisia converted Eighth man Joshua Chisanga’s try from a pushover as scrum half Kevin Masai curled over two penalties for Homeboyz first win against Nakuru, who led 8-6 at the break.

Winger Cassias Omollo scored a try while fly half Martin Muita kicked over two penalties but fell short of putting Nakuru through for their seventh cup success. Nakuru beat KCB 18-13 to lift the Enterprise Cup title last year.

“It was a hard fought duel but I congratulate the boys for this sweet victory,” said Homeboyz coach Paul Murunga.

KCB, who are eying their  second title of the season after beating Kabras Sugar 27-3 to lift Kenya Cup three weeks ago, rallied from behind 7-8 at the break to break the hearts of Quins fans.

Fly half Lyle Asiligwa converted winger William Mawira’s try but Quins lead was cut by a point when KCB’s eighth man Max Adaka scored from a maul before Darwin Mukidza converted.
