OBJECTIVES ACHIEVED

Kenya Airways Marketing Director Chris Diaz confirmed the development, saying their engagement with Kenya Sevens since 2008 has achieved its objectives, especially with the team qualifying for 2016 Olympics.

“We are glad both the men and women’s teams have qualified for the Olympic Games,” said Diaz.

Omwela said KRU will still put players on annual contracts but he did not give more details.

“Our negotiations took time since this is a big investment we undertook with Kenya Sevens,” said Diaz.

Diaz said they will focus on how to further develop Sevens rugby in partnership with KRU.
