After falling to clinch the Kenya Cup last weekend, Kabras Sugar will Saturday shift focus to the Enterprise Cup where they face Kenya Harlequin in one of the pre-quarterfinal matches.

Kabras Sugar, who were making their maiden appearance in the Kenya Cup, bludgeoned through to the final before losing 3-27 to Kenya Commercial Bank in the final at the RFUEA grounds.

Kabras, coached by former KCB forward Anthony Ogot, return to the same venue today seeking to stamp their authority over Quins whom they beat 27-10 on Match Day 12 of the Kenya Cup.

Victory for Kabras today will see them play KCB again in the quarterfinals next weekend.

HOMEBOYZ PLAY BLAK BLAD

Homeboyz play Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa grounds, with the winner of the match meeting champions Nakuru in the quarters.

Strathmore Leos welcome Mean Machine at Madaraka today in a match whose winner will play Nondescripts in the quarter-finals.

In Kakamega, Western Bulls will host Mwamba in what should be another exciting encounter. The winner will earn a quarter-final date with Impala Saracens.

“We took the Kenya Cup defeat in our stride but we now want to snatch this one,” said Kabras Sugar scrum half skipper Edwin Achayo. “It was all about experience since KCB had been there before.”

Ogot will be without injured loose-head prop Perminus Mukabi and right wing Aluda Beda who are likely to be replaced by Brian Juma and Stormy Odhiambo respectively. Also missing are injured centres Nick Barasa and Leslie Mango.

NO CAUSE FOR WORRY

“There is no worry because the rest are equal to the task,” said Ogot, adding that he will tightened his forward department that crumbled against KCB in the Kenya Cup final. “We will stick to our open play of total rugby against Quins,” said Ogot.

Quins coach Sydney “Black Rose” Obonyo said he is ready to take a sweet revenge against Kabras Sugar.
“We made a few mistakes when we met last but we are ready to dilute them.” Said Obonyo, who welcomes back Eden Agero, Kevin Keegan, Max Theuri, Dennis Muhanji, Lyle Asiligwa and Wilson K’Opondo. Skipper Patrice Agunda and Felix Ayange are away with the Kenya Sevens team.
