Kabras Sugar made their intentions of clinching their first ever national sevens rugby circuit title known when they registered two convincing wins as the ninth edition of the Top Fry Prinsloo Sevens kicked off at the Nakuru Athletic Club on Saturday.

In their opening match the Kakamega based sugar millers crashed four-time winners and Driftwood Sevens champions Mwamba 19-0 in a thrilling opening match.

Kabras chief destroyer was Jone Kunu who scored the three tries and went on to make two quick conversions to silence Mwamba.

“This was a sweet opening victory and I hope to lead Kabras to clinch its first ever sevens crown in Nakuru,” said Kunu after the match.

Mwamba bounced back to winning ways when thrashed Mount Kenya University (MKU) from Thika 33-0 in a one sided encounter.

In their second outing of the day, Kabras dispatched neighbours Western Bulls 17-7. Against Western Bulls, Kabras got off to two tries by Kunu and Epeli Bukandi. The Bulls made up for that loss with a 24-0 win over MKU.
