The battle for two remaining semi-final places in the Kenya Cup rugby league will go down to the wire after Nakuru and Strathmore Leos lost their matches on Saturday.

Mwamba also kept their dream of reaching the semi-finals alive when they battled to a 10-5 victory over Strathmore Leos at the Railway Club, Nairobi.

Mwamba remained eighth but with an improved tally of 59 points while the Leos dropped two places to seventh and out of the semi-final places with 62 points.

KCB UP TO THIRD

Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) scaled one place to third with 67 points when they whitewashed hosts Bungoma Sharks 93-3 at Bungoma High School.

Kabras Sugar chalked a bonus-point 29-10 victory against hosts Blak Blad at Kenyatta University to jump two places to fourth with 75 points as Homeboyz moved into the semi-final bracket with bonus-point 48-3 win over Thika.

With Quins and Impala having claimed the first two automatic semi-final places, KCB, Kabras, Homeboyz, Nakuru and Strathmore will battle for the last to places on Saturday in their last matches.

From the six teams vying for the two semi-finals places, Kabras Sugar seem certain of reaching the semi-finals as they are left with a relatively easy match against Thika in Kakamega on Saturday.

But Strathmore and Mwamba have to beat Impala and Nondies respectively in their last matches to reach the semis.
