Kenya Simbas host Hong Kong in Test match

Hong Kong national 15s team the Dragons arrive in the country Friday morning ahead of their Test match against Kenya Simbas on Saturday next week at the RFUEA grounds. 

However, the Dragons, who are due at 5am will play Kenya A on Tuesday at 6pm under floodlights at the Impala Sports Club grounds before the Test match.

The visiting side, coached by Leigh Jones, are currently ranked 22nd, two places above Kenya by World Rugby. Hong Kong last played Kenya in 2011 in Dubai where they won 44-17.

The Dragons finished second behind Japan in the Three-Nation Asian Rugby Championships that also featured South Korea on April 30 to June 4. 

They lost to Japan 3-38 and 17-59 but edged out South Korea 34-27 and 41-15. Kenya finished second behind Namibia in the Africa Rugby Cup Division 1A, having beaten Zimbabwe and Uganda 61-15 and 45-24, but lost to Namibia 21-56.  The victory against Uganda saw Kenya Simbas recapture the Elgon Cup after they had beaten the Ugandans in the first leg 46-10.

The Dragons delegation has 25 players and 10 officials.

Kenya Simbas coach head coach Jerome Paarwater is expected to name his squad on Monday.

KRU-ISUZU PARTNERSHIP

Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) received a major boost ahead of the tour christened Tatu City Series after they received a donation of four Isuzu vehicles from General Motors (GM) East Africa for transportation.

KRU secretary general Oduor Gangla signed a one-year partnership with GM managing director Rita Kavashe at the RFUEA grounds on Wednesday.
