Kenya Simbas stay 28th despite heavy loss in Namibia

Kenya Simba retained their 28th position in the World Rugby ranking despite losing 13-46 to Namibia in their Africa Rugby Division 1A duel in Windhoek on Saturday.
Kenya have 55.89 points while Namibia, who improved one place to 20th after their victory, have 61.57.
The defeat effectively ended Simbas’ hope sof reclaiming the Africa Cup title they last won in 2013.
Namibia, who are preparing for the 2015 Rugby World Cup, will now take on Zimbabwe on Saturday in a match where the winner will take it all.
Namibia, who are the defending champions, and Zimbabwe, the 2012 champions, have six points each at the top but the former have a better aggregate and in good position to retain the crown for their fifth Cup success.
Kenya, who won the title for the first time in 2011, have three points from their 46-15 crushing of Tunisia. Namibia had earlier on beaten Tunisia 22-14 while Zimbabwe edged out Kenya and Tunisia 28-20 and 19-8 respectively.
Namibia, Zimbabwe and Kenya will be joined by Division 1B winners Uganda for next year’s Division 1A battle while Tunisia will be relegated to Division 1B.
Meanwhile, Kenya Harlequin led the National Sevens Series with 41 points after the first two legs; Christie and Dala Sevens.
SEVENS CIRCUIT TAKES A BREAK
After downing Kenya Commercial Bank 19-0 to lift Christie Sevens title, Quins met their match in Nakuru RFC, who beat them 15-14 at Dala Sevens final on Saturday.
Nakuru are now second, six points adrift while the Series defending champions KCB are third on 32 points.
Strathmore Leos who finished fourth in Dala, are fourth on the log with 29 points, two more than fifth-placed Mwamba on 27 points while Impala and Nondies are tied on 25 points.
The Circuit takes a break this weekend but will head to Mombasa where Nakuru have been seeded first at Driftwood Sevens set for August 22 and 23 at Mbaraki Sports Club and Aga Khan High School.
