Even though leaders Homeboyz, Kenya Commercial Bank and Kenya Harlequin are assured of a place in the top six positions that make the play-offs, two of them would like to snatch the two automatic places in the semi-finals.

The next top four finishers will fight it out in the play-offs to make the semis

Is this Homeboyz’s year, having along the way claimed major scalps in champions Kabras Sugar, KCB, Mwamba, Impala and Quins?

Nakuru seem favourite to clinch the last place in the play-off when they host basement side Mean Machine of the University of Nairobi at Nakuru Athletic Club.

Mwamba will have to produce something special to stop buoyant KCB at their KCB Ruaraka backyard.

The bankers, who are placed second with 61 points, will be forgiven for thinking about the semi-finals as they face play-off chasing Kulabu.

Western Bulls, who are placed 11th in the 12-team league, must beat champions Kabras Sugar if they are to stand any chance of avoiding relegation.

Blak Blad, who are placed 10th have a difficult hurdle to clear against Impala if they hope to avoid relegation while Strathmore too must beat third-placed Quins to survive in top flight.

Strathmore have 17 points, Blak Blad 16 and Western Bulls 14.

The Menengai Cream-sponsored Homeboyz, who top the league with 64 points, are seeking a fairytale end to the regular season and an automatic semi-final place when they host Nondescripts.

Homeboyz beat Nakuru 44-14 to open up a three-point lead heading into the 16th and final round of the regular season.
