Strathmore University Leos will be out to consolidate their Kenya Cup table lead when they face University of Nairobi’s Mean Machine in a night clash at Impala Sports Club.

Strathmore started their campaign strongly, crushing Mombasa 46-0 away before seeing off Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad 35-15 in the process earning two bonus points.

WORTHY OPPONENTS

The results have pushed the varsity students, who are sponsored by Pan Africa Asset Management Company, to the top of the 14-team table with 14 points.

Machines remain without a win after they suffered a 5-35 defeat to Kenya Harlequin, who are second in the league, and 3-71 to Homeboyz. “You can’t tell the tale before you do it,” said Strathmore coach Mitch Ocholla. “Machine have always been worthy opponents and it’s going to be the usual hot varsity derby.”
Strathmore struggled to edge out Machine 17-14 in their last Kenya Cup outing. “We have prepared well. The players have gone through a refined conditioning system and structures. The team is competitive and we just need to hit the right buttons,” Ocholla said.
