A video recording allegedly depicting Catholic priest Renato Kizito in a sexual orgy with young boys was tabled in Parliament on Thursday.
National Assembly Speaker Kenneth Marende said he will view contents of the video clip to ascertain its authenticity before giving further direction on the matter.
Ikolomani MP Bonny Khalwale (New Ford Kenya) also tabled a letter from two lawyers who have undertaken to present themselves to the Police Commissioner to own the video clip as evidence of the alleged molestation by the priest.
Although ODM nominated MP Milly Odhiambo had asked Internal Security minister George Saitoti to give a statement on the claims facing Fr Kizito, the minister has not presented himself to the House.
It is against this background that Dr Khalwale rose on Thursday to urge the House to take the matter seriously and rise up to protect children.
The MP claimed he found the VCD containing the footage in his pigeon hole yesterday morning and had proceeded to watch its contents, which he described as “sexual orgies” that were going on at the priest’s institution proving molestation of boys.
He further claimed that the priest had admitted to “experimenting on the children.” Fr Kizito is facing allegations of sexually abusing boys at the Koinonia Community Centre, a charitable organisation which he runs.
The priest has denied the claims, terming them a smear campaign orchestrated by persons keen on wrestling the Sh3 billion charity agency from his control. Police have started analysing an alleged video recording of the alleged abuse.
