Just how many districts are there in Kenya? A list of 265 new districts was tabled before Parliament.
Provincial Administration and Internal Security assistant minister Simeon Lesrima tabled the list showing the districts in each province.
Some of them are yet to be legalised and, according to the assistant minister, the Interim Independent Boundary Review Commission that is chaired by former MP Andrew Ligale, will look into the matter.
Mr Lesrima presented the list in answer to a question by Konoin MP Julius Kones (ODM). The list shows that Rift Valley Province has the largest number of districts at 63.
Eastern has 55, Central and Nyanza have 37 each, Western has 30, while Coast has 21. North Eastern Province has 13 districts while Nairobi has the lowest number (9).
