About 85 trade exhibitors have confirmed participation in next month’s Agricultural Society of Kenya show to be held in Nakuru.

Geothermal Development Company, which is searching for steam energy in the neighbouring Menengai Crater, is among new investors showcasing their products at the Central Rift branch trade exhibition — a three-day event that is scheduled to open its gates on July 7.

According to the chairman of the branch, Mr Jeptha Rono, the Interim Independent Electoral Commission (IIEC) will also exhibit at the event for the first time.

The show attracted more than 100 exhibitors last year, and this time, Mr Rono said, they are expecting the number to go up.

“We expect other new companies and corporations to be present,” he said.

Mr Rono spoke at the show grounds on Sunday when officials of the branch and local leaders visited the venue to assess preparations.

The chairman announced that they will be installing new lighting facilities at the show in a bid to intensify security.
