KQ suspends Douala flights

Kenya Airways will halt its six flights a week to Douala, Cameroon starting March 1 to 21 following closure of the airport for repairs.

Instead, Kenya Airways said all its flights from Nairobi will directly head to Yaoundé’s Nsimalen International Airport every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

The national carrier said that the Tuesday and Saturday flights that flew to Douala via Bangui in Central Africa Republic will now terminate their services in Bangui. 

It added that passengers who had already booked to travel on the affected days will be rebooked on a new schedule and notified by the customer relations team.

At the same time, Kenya Airway’s subsidiary Jambojet Wednesday celebrated flying its one millionth customer attributing it to county executive and leisure travels to the coast region since inception two years ago.

Jambojet’s chief executive Officer Willem Hondius said low fares saw more Kenyans choose air travel especially senior officials at county governments as well as introduction of new routes serving the coastal tourist resorts.
