Kenchic Limited franchise has written to fast foods outlets giving them a 30 day notice to withdraw its Kenchic Inn branding from the market.

The company has abandoned its farm opting to focus on chicken processing and supply.

The outlets will however have up to March 31 to rebrand the outlets in what the company says is a good will extension by a month.

“At the end of the period the Kenchic Inn brand can no longer be used or any of the Kenchic associated logos, brands or colours,” company Operations Manager Processing and Sales Distribution, Phillip Carolan.

The poultry company says it will concentrate on chicken processing after it launched a Sh350 million chicken processing plant at Thika in December. The plant will have a capacity to slaughter 30,000 chickens per day.

The franchise however closed down its Tigoni (Limuru) based processing facility.
