Prudential Life Assurance Kenya announced Wednesday the appointment of former Kenya Airways chief executive Titus Naikuni as its chairman.
Prudential Africa CEO Matt Lilley said the firm would leverage on Mr Naikuni’s wealth of experience to steer its expansion programmes and consolidate its Kenya business.
“Today’s announcement is another important milestone for Prudential Kenya. Titus has a wealth of experience and I am pleased that Prudential Kenya is able to attract a chairman of his calibre. I look forward to working with him as we further develop Prudential Kenya and continue to put our ambitious plans into action,” Mr Lilley said in a statement.
“Prudential Kenya is part of one of the oldest and most strongly capitalised insurance companies in the world. It has already invested over a billion shillings in Kenya and is on track to create thousands of jobs by 2020. I look forward to working with the leadership team to continue to develop the business and provide innovative and high-quality products for its customers,” he said.
Mr Naikuni has held senior leadership roles in Kenya for more than two decades. He worked as managing director at the Magadi Soda Company, permanent secretary in a now defunct ministry, and was chief executive of Kenya Airways for more than a decade.
